New Song – “Jesus Messiah”

A friend sent me a new song yesterday by Chris Tomlin, “Jesus Messiah” So this morning I am driving around before work listening to it, weeping and trying to sing at the same time. You know…”one of those moments“.

This is the best worship song I have heard in a really long time. It has it all. Musically it soars and lyrically it is more grounded in truth than a lot of the “praise songs” out there.

It looks as though Tomlin has a new CD coming out in September entitled “Hello Love“. I can’t wait.

Let me stop here for just a moment to make something clear, because if I am not careful It will come across as though I am singing the praises of Tomlin (to which I am to some degree I know), but this post comes out of a heart that has swelled with a love for Jesus this morning and an awe of what he has done for this poor vile creature.  His love is amazing. He is my rescuer and my redeemer, the one who ransomed me. He is JESUS MESSIAH!

Man, thank you for putting in words what I felt when I first heard this song yesterday.

It is for those reasons that I feel like this song will be around for a long time. Which is a praise in and of itself, as it will mean the praises of Jesus being increased — something that we cannot do on our own. Praise be to Him for the grace He gives to worship Him!

    Have fun @ VBS! Aloha!

    …………haven’t heard this song yet…………….
    …but praise God….!
…and praise God how He can use the right words and right music to encourage us…

BTW, speaking of worship, Rod: Abe Piper had this to say on his blog — and talk about encouraging. This lifted such a burden of guilt from my proverbial shoulders:

“When I’m beyond discouraged, my worship of God can be to simply acknowledge that later—because of him—I will worship better.”

    I am breathing better already.
